In chapter one I learned there was more to the web than i thought. In a previous class i took we briefly discussed Arpanet, but we never went in to real detail about what it was. there are many different ways that people connect to the Internet. some use Wifi, Ethernet, dial-up, and the list goes on. when the public was giving access to the Internet it was hard to use until html came around.

Words that i have leaned so far
1.Html-codes or tags that define the layout of a web page.
2.File Transfer Protocol(FTP)-allows you to download and upload material from the Internet.
3.Circuit switching- allows a caller to keep a constant connection from the time they dial a number until they hang up.
4.Internet Service Provider(ISP)-a company that provides Internet service.
5.Hypertext- words that are linked to another location.
